For Sarra, a young middle class girl from Tunis, everything, on the surface, is going as her conservative mother planned: she is taking sewing lessons and she is soon going to get married to a nice and well-to-do boy. But Sarra is hiding a dangerous plan with which she wishes to escape her current life.
Amel is a Tunisian photographer and director. After pursuing law studies at the Sorbonne, she works as an AD with Assayas and Kechiche. In 2014, she co-directs a documentary, Born in the spring. In 2017, she makes her first professional short fiction, Black Mamba. The film is selected in many international festivals and wins several prizes like the Audience Award in Films Femmes Méditerranée Festival, the Grand prize, the Best fiction prize and the Best actress prize in Rencontres du Film Court in Madagascar, the Best film prize and the Best actor prize at Jordan International Film Festival, the Best actress prize in Kinshasa International Film Festival, the Jury award in Malmö Arab Film Festival, the High school jury Best short film award in Apt African Film Festival, the Prix de la Francophonie in Dakar Court and the Best short film in Sochi International Film Festival and Awards. Amel is currently developing her first feature project, Tunis-Djerba, with Atlas Vision.
